Watercolor Lovers Rules

:star:NEW SUBMISSION LIMIT::star:

1 piece per month per folder: this means that the 1 month limit applies on each folder instead of globally as before!
ANYWAY, we'd love you to submit your best artwork and little by little. Show us and the members what you're proud of but don't submit all at once: members may ignore your art if they see tons of pieces by the same artists!

This said, here they are the rules!

:star:RULES:star:

:bulletblue: Submit only pieces where the watercolor is at least 85% compared to other possible media.

:bulletblue: Submit to the correct folder! Folders descriptions are here: fav.me/d9fag6s

:bulletred: NO digital watercolors.

:bulletblue: Pictures of your watercolored artwork are acceptable, but be sure to crop them (if necessary), adjust brightness, NOT apply any filter. In few words: good quality pictures! :dance: (You have no idea how to make it? Here they are a couple of useful tutorials: How To Photograph Paintings by joshthecartoonguy, PE: Presenting Your Traditional Artworks, Part 2Traditional Art Week
This is the second part of a basic guide how to make your traditional artworks look appealing when presenting them in the Internet. This is not about changing or manipulating your traditional artwork to something is not originally, but helping you to make it look as good on a screen as it is in real life.

The Part 1 introduced some scanning and shooting tips;
This Part 2 advices how to edit the scanned/photographed artworks.

This guide is meant especially for beginning artists but maybe also more advanced artists can find something new to think about – or maybe you can share your best tips in the comment area of this article!
EDITING YOUR DIGITIZED PICTURES
For editing your scanned or photographed picture you need a software to do that (or you can use the adjustment tools your scanner offers, see Part 1 for those). Adobe Photoshop is a co

:bulletblue: NO to digital drastic retouches (like filters), but YES to minor digital adjustments!

:bulletblue: Watercolors tutorial aren't subjected to the previous rule. Go ahead and share your knowledge! :dance:

:bulletred: DON'T SUBMIT TO HALL OF FAME AND BEST OF THE MONTH! These are special folders managed by the admins. If you want to know about them, check their description or pay a visit there (recommended!)!

:bulletblue: Submit art made by YOU. Stolen/traced art will result in you being kicked out of the group!

:bulletblue: We accept mature art, but within tasteful limits: NOTHING very explicit. Be sure to add the filter or we will have to decline your piece.
The same goes for gore/bloody pieces.

:bulletred: NO WIPs or Sketches.

:bulletred: NO offensive art (like pieces containing discriminative messages)

:bulletred: Don't annoy other members! Be kind, pretty please?

IMPORTANT: if you're leaving the group, first: ç_ç we're sorry we're saying goodbye, thank you for joining! Second: please, remove your submissions. They take the room of other possible members' pieces and it's not fair because folder take a limited number of items :') be kind and responsible leaving the place neat and clean :dance:
You will be sent a note asking you to, in case you don't remember :dance:

Hi guys!
Before talking about the contest, how about voting your favorite featured piece of art here: November Feature. It's easy, quick and you can make an artist very very happy! Deadline to vote your favorite artist: January, 3rd.

Now, about the catchy title! :tribblela:

Christmas La We are having a contest! A Christmas contest! GIF Adventure Time - Claps Christmas La

What am I supposed to draw?
A Christmas card. Looks easy, huh? What if I told you you are not allowed to portray some common subjects? And that you can pick between 2 categories? :tardgrinn:

Wait...what?
YEAH! There are two categories based on a color that has to be the main in the picture, each of them with a list of forbidden items (items that MUST NOT appear in your piece) and a list of feelings you have to use as inspiration and that you have to convey to us!

Here they are:

Heart of Gold  GOLD  Heart of Gold

Forbidden Items: Stars; Any Decoration item (i.e. Christmas balls, garlands etc.); Wrapped Gifts; Deers;
Atmosphere: Mystery, Miracle, Magic;

:^v^: FUCHSIA :^v^:

Forbidden ItemsFlowers; Any Decoration item (i.e. Christmas balls, garlands etc.); Wrapped Gifts; Santa and his clothes;
Atmosphere: Passion, Drive, Dynamism;

Make the best postcard with these elements, and make us feel the warmth of Christmas! :xmas:
